The NDIS is at a critical juncture. Many promises have been made and expectations set – and now is the time to deliver on its great promise. We have made a lot of investment in recovery, capacity building and wellbeing with this scheme, but have we delivered?
The fourth NDIS and Mental Health Conference will be held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney on 20 and 21 of February. It is a time for NDIS participants, families and providers to come together and be part of the conversation about next steps forward.
“This conference attracts the most influential sector leaders in the disability care and mental health space,” said Bill Gye, Chief Executive Officer of Community Mental Health Australia.
“We have come to a critical point where both the NDIS and the services that surround it will be seeking to make real progress on the scheme.”
South Australian speakers include psychologist Sarah Sutton, advocate Patricia Sutton, with Mark Loughhead of University of South AUstralia and Heather McIntyre, Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Research and Education Group (MHSPRG), University of South Australia.
They will be joined by key speakers:
- Dr Michelle Funk – Unit Head of the Policy, Law and Human Rights, World Health Organisation
- Tracey Mackey – NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commissioner
- Professor Bruce Bonyhady AM – Co-chair of the Independent Review of the NDIS & Director of Melbourne Disability Institute
