If you are in a designated NGO Lived Experience role…

…LEWP is working with Lived Experience/Peer workers in the NGO mental health sector to co-produce an online Community of Practice to support you in your role.

Supported by LEWP, the ‘community’ (people who participate) will be responsible for leading sessions and shaping Lived Experience practice-specific conversations to help build collective understanding of best practice, develop networks and share learning.

You might have been to an awesome training program that you found helpful and interesting. You may want to unpack a topic that is on your mind, share things that you’re wrestling with in your practice and draw from the experiences of others. You might want to get to know others in Lived Experience roles over a virtual cuppa and build your contacts. Or you might want to simply dip your toes in the water and see where it takes you.

We welcome people who practice from personal or carer/family Lived Experience perspectives. Although our focus is mental health and we work within the guidelines of this practice, if you are in a related role (e.g. LGBTIQA+, AOD, Homelessness Lived Experience role) we’d love to learn from you and share our knowledge with you.

Sessions will be held completely online, approximately every 6 weeks and are free.

Co-production to get the first session off the ground is underway and if you can spare some time, the group would love to have you on board. You can help out as little or as much as you can – it all counts! Contact LEWP Senior Project Officer, Lizzie Graham at lizzie.graham@mhcsa.org.au for more information.

Spread the word, email Lizzie to join our mailing list and stay in the LEWP! We hope to see you and your colleagues soon.
