The LEWP NGO Mental Health Lived Experience Workforce Standards and Guidelines self-assessment tool has been co-designed to support organisations in embedding their Lived Experience/Peer workforce. They align to State and National frameworks, strategies and plans and allow NGOs to track where they are at against best practice Standards, and develop Actions to close any gaps.

LEWP is building high quality pathways to Peer work study and employment to ensure a qualified, skilled, high quality sustainable Lived Experience/Peer workforce in the NGO mental health sector. As part of our Pathways to Peer Work, LEWP supports people who are:

  • Seeking Lived Experience/Peer work employment in the sector
  • Considering undertaking the Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work
  • Currently studying the qualification
  • Currently employed in the NGO sector in a Lived Experience role
  • Directly supervise Lived Experience/Peer workers (Line Managers and Peer Supervisors)
  • Employing NGOs

As a valuable part of this pathway, LEWP is supporting the MHCSA’s project to develop an accredited Mental Health Peer Work Skill Set. Read more about the project here.
