The MHCSA is running a scholarships program, to support people who are undertaking a Cert IV in Mental Health Peer Work. The scholarship will cover the cost of the Cert IV and also provide a stipend (allowance) to assist with the purchase of a laptop, text books, or travel associated with undertaking the Cert IV. In addition, mentoring support will be provided by the Senior Project Officer, throughout the study period and can also offer assistance in becoming job ready for employers, if needed, after study is complete.

Prior to this role, the SPO has been a manager working in mental health services, and has worked with peer workers, a range of placement students on placement and has experience in supervision of staff from wide ranging backgrounds. The scholarships program will run for two years, 2023 -2024, and will be offering scholarships to metro and regional areas (e.g. Adelaide, Limestone Coast and Pt Augusta).

The second round of scholarships has now closed, for the 2024 Intake.

All applications will be assessed together and announcements made, by email from scholarships@mhcsa.org.au in the near future.

Thanks to everyone who applied, the applications have been of a very high standard!
