Are you or someone you know making a real difference in the mental health sector in South Australia?
The Mental Health Coalition of SA (MHCSA) Lived Experience Awards are now open and it is where we recognise and celebrate the exceptional work of individuals in designated lived experience roles. If you’re a paid Lived Experience Worker or Student – or know someone who fits the bill – this is your chance to be honored for your outstanding contributions.
“We want to celebrate individuals in paid, designated Lived Experience roles within the SA mental health sector who embody the core values and principles of peer work in their practice,” says Molly Springhall, Program Manager, Lived Experience Workforce Program.
“For the student award, we look for students undertaking the Cert IV in Mental Health Peer Work at an SA based RTO who demonstrate these values and principles and effectively apply their learning in practice.
“Applying for the awards allows people to celebrate the achievements of the nominees and acknowledge their significant contributions within the field. It’s an opportunity to highlight and recognise their valuable work at our annual Lived Experience Awards dinner.”
This year, we’re excited to reintroduce the Peer Work Student Award.
“With two RTOs in SA offering the Cert IV in Mental Health Peer Work, it is important to recognise the incredible practice of the students. The return of this category will honor students who not only excel in their studies but also demonstrate exceptional application of their learning in practice and go beyond the requirements of their program,” says Molly.
Whether you’re a Peer Support Worker, a Recovery Coach, Student or a Carer Consultant, we want to hear your story!
